Leadership Coachella Valley Board
My work focuses on helping local government communicate clearly, build trust, and make public information easier for residents to understand and use.
This portfolio highlights selected work in public affairs, community engagement, digital government, media relations, crisis communications, and civic education.
Civic Education & Community Engagement
I created the Palm Desert Civic Academy, a five-session program that gives residents a closer look at City operations, departments, facilities, and services. I also support community meetings, Coffee with the Mayor, project outreach, and resident communications.
Public Affairs & Executive Communications
I prepare public-facing materials for elected officials, executive leadership, and City departments, including talking points, public statements, resident correspondence, event remarks, web content, and issue briefings.
Media Relations & Strategic Storytelling
I manage media relations and help the City share timely, accurate, and useful information with residents. This includes press releases, media advisories, interview preparation, and a strategic media partnership with NBC Palm Springs for regular public affairs updates.
Crisis Communications & Sensitive Issues
I support emergency public information and reputation-sensitive communications when accuracy, tone, and timing matter most. This includes crisis communications during Tropical Storm Hilary and messaging support following high-profile City Council issues.
Leadership & Regional Service
I serve as President of Leadership Coachella Valley, a 25-year-old non-profit with nearly 1000 graduates. I lead a 12-member board and a 50-person cohort of participants to support regional leadership, civic understanding, and community connection.
Municipal Digital Infrastructure
I have helped modernize core communications infrastructure for the City of Palm Desert, including the redesign of the City website, launch of the Engage Palm Desert civic engagement platform, transition to a .gov domain, and improvements to digital accessibility and content governance.
My Approach
I believe strong public communication should be clear, steady, accessible, and human. Whether the work is a website, a public meeting, a crisis update, or a civic education program, the goal is the same: help people understand what is happening, why it matters, and how they can be part of the conversation.
